I recently launched a new blog on my home page. The idea is to bring more awareness to how you can help out in your own little way. In this article, I have come up with 17 tips that will help you be an ecologist at home. This means trying to be as environmentally conscious at home as you would at work. I would love to know if these 17 tips are what you have been doing.
We come from the purest of places. From the first time we walked upright, our souls were molded by the land around us. Nature has been a source of inspiration, of learning, and of guidance since time immemorial. We are linked to the land, and to everything in the land, from the birds in our trees to the woods surrounding our towns, from the fish in our streams to the hills above our houses, from the plants in our gardens to the creatures in the wilds.
Protecting nature takes less effort than you might think. You don’t have to donate large sums of money and participate in rebellion or public protest to reduce pollution in the city where you live. See also: Saving space when using a combination kitchen
Use fluorescent tubes
An ordinary light bulb, also known as an incandescent lamp, produces more heat than a fluorescent lamp. A normal incandescent lamp contains a thin filament that emits a lot of heat. A fluorescent lamp, on the other hand, requires less heat to produce light. This is due to the use of fluorescent tubes. If you want to save a few bucks on your light bill, choose a bulb that requires less heat to produce light.
Turn off the computer every night, or at least put it to sleep
I left my laptop on for days and never turned it off. Today, this laptop is not in the best condition. It seems to have been revised. The same goes for your computer. It is recommended to turn off the computer every night to save energy. Step 1 and step 2 go together.
When you brush your teeth, don’t let the water dry up
Did you know that you only need one glass of water to brush your teeth? Instead of running the water, simply fill the glass with water when you want to brush your teeth. The truth is, you don’t need more than a glass of water. If you leave it on, you’re wasting precious water. In this way you can save up to 20 litres of water per day.
When printing, print on both sides of the paper
Why only press on one side when you have plenty of room on the other. The printed information can be compressed by using both sides of the sheet. Plus, if you’re paying for printing, this option is ideal. Use all the blank pages when you type something.
Install a water filter at home so you don’t have to buy bottled water
Bottled water is more expensive than bottled water. People tend to think that bottled water is 100% pure. Unfortunately, this is not the case. A water filter purifies your water, and it may even be cleaner than bottled water. If you buy bottled water every day for a year, that’s more than the cost of your water filter. Do the math: you save more with a water filter.
Eat fruit and vegetables
Health is a plus. Fruits and vegetables cleanse the body, reducing the risk of health problems. You know the saying An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Eat fruits and vegetables regularly. You can eat them fresh or make many delicious salads and smoothies with them.
Recycle the bottles! Reduce air pollution by 20% and water pollution by 50%
All forms of fuel combustion contribute to air pollution. If the bottles burn, it’s a form of combustion. We know that smoke from burning fuels is a form of air pollution. Instead of burning bottles, it is better to recycle. Recycling does not contribute to ozone depletion and the plastic can be used for other products.
Recycle newspapers and magazines you no longer read!
Do not throw them in the garbage, but take them to a recycling center. In this way, you save more than half a million trees every week. Paper can be recycled in the same way as bottles. Once recycled, they can be used for many purposes. Recycling saves energy and money. It takes more energy to produce the new material than to recycle it.
Do not dry textiles in a dedicated machine
Natural resources, especially wind and sunlight, are the best forms of energy. For heating, the sun can provide an enormous amount of energy. You don’t need a dryer, especially if you live in the tropics. If you have a tumble dryer, use it as little as possible and only in rainy weather. Natural resources are free, and it costs you nothing.
Plant a tree!
We all know that trees are important for the environment. Trees use photosynthesis to absorb food and this process releases oxygen. Planting trees provides a constant supply of oxygen to the environment.
Do not give up used items – they may be much better than new
I remember growing up with my sister’s old clothes. My mother was very conservative, especially when it came to money. Instead of buying me new clothes, she gave me my sister’s old clothes. The clothes were in good condition and the money that would have been spent on new clothes was used for something more important. Used stuff can be used.
Take a shower or bath with your partner to reduce water use
Showering together is romantic and economical. When both partners shower at the same time, they use less water than when they shower separately. The goal is conservation.
Throw away your old mobile phones!
Many phone companies reward you with money for old phones you don’t use. Old phones are still valuable; they contain valuable materials that can be used to make products. Recycling mobile phones also reduces air pollution, as the materials from which the phones are made do not have to be reproduced, but can be extracted from old mobile phones. Some of the materials in old cell phones are hazardous and their proper decomposition or reuse is safer for the environment.
Put all the clothes and things you no longer use into a bag and donate them to charity
Sharing is the best form of love. Instead of burning your old clothes, you can give them to someone in need. This option obviously reduces air pollution since it is a form of combustion. People who have had misfortune will thank you for sharing it with them.
Turn off the lights if you leave the room for more than 10 minutes
If you are not using an item, put it in a safe place. The same principles apply to light. If you’re not using it, turn it off. There is no need to leave the lights on when you are not using them. Logically, this saves money. I can’t stress this enough.
Abolish plastic bags and don’t use them anymore!
Some US states have banned plastic. In fact, it can be dangerous for the environment. They don’t break down well. When plastic breaks down, toxic substances can be released into the environment. If that happens, we have no control over what happens next. The best way to control the situation is to remove the plastic.
Use rechargeable batteries!
Rechargeable batteries save a lot of money. You simply pay for a battery that you use over and over again, rather than having to buy batteries every time the non-rechargeable battery reaches the end of its life. Rechargeable batteries have a long life and are cheaper than non-rechargeable batteries in the long run.
